Sidewalk Chalk!
Cade wrote my name on our sidewalk for the first time! He has been doing so well at learning his letters and how to write them. It is just beginning and he has many areas to perfect, but I am so proud of him!

A New Park!
The boys and I have been enjoying the beautiful early spring weather! We have been outside 2-4 hours everyday - walking, biking, swinging, running, climbing, blowing bubbles, scootering, raking leaves, playing monster tag. . . . the list goes on. We have ventured out to all of the parks in Princeton already, so we decided to change things up. We went over to Peru and found a fun park to play at. I packed a lunch and we enjoyed picnicing and playing. Though the boys hardly eat when we picnic, I don't mind because we are having a great time! There were a few other kids at the park we were at, so the boys enjoyed running, playing, and talking to them, but they thoroughly enjoyed when I chased them playing monster tag. They ask to play monster tag everyday . . . it is simply tag with a few roars from mommy! I would have to say that the adventures we have at the park are some of the best.

Pajama Mornings
I love having slow mornings with my boys. I am talking of the mornings where I get up after 7:15am and sit on the couch with them and watch 2 or 3 20 minute Disney Junior shows while I drink my coffee and cuddle.
The last few weeks Cade has been waking up at irregular times. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday he has been awaking at 7:25am, which does not make out morning slow and lazy, but quick and out the door for school. Of course on Tuesday and Thursday when he could sleep in, he has woken at 6:45am. I think that I am doing the right bedtime strategies, but it really doesn't matter. I love our Tuesday and Thursday mornings, except for the wake-up time. Wish I could figure out the way to make it later (or I just need to get over it and get out of bed with a smile!)
I simply know next year I am not going to get my ideal lazy mornings EVER again. I don't want that to happen. I love the footie pjs and mornings with blankets and stuffed animals surrounding us. I will never get these days back.

Tooth #2 Is Out!
Cade lost his second tooth on March 11, 2012. And yes it happened the same way as the first . . . . Daddy and Cade were wrestling and out the tooth came as it got caught on Daddy's ring. Cade didn't know whether to laugh or cry, as you can tell in the picture. I am sure it did hurt but I do think the tears were more out of shock.
Though I thought that the first tooth came out earlier than I thought was ready, his adult tooth is coming right in. His teeth are already looking crooked, so we will see when the braces will be joining our mouth :(
I wonder if Cade will loose all of his teeth in wrestling matches? Really it is an easy way for them to come. I remember the days of wiggling wiggling wiggling and when my teeth were dangling by a string. Ouch. That hurt. Hoping they are nice and easy and painless for him!

Daddy Gone to Cali
More Painting!
We have not attempted painting with Cade at home for quite some time. Joel really wanted to paint again (February 28) so I thought I would give it a whirl. In the past Cade usually mixes all of the paint colors together and makes a brown mucky color all over the paper. He has never made any sort of scene of an attempt at a person, but things were TOTALLY different this time when I got the paints out. He was painting desert scenes and robots and trees. It was amazing. It was so fun to see him grow in his fine motor skills in this way. Joel wasn't too stoked on painting this this day. I think he sat in the chair 5 minutes before asking to get down.

My BEST Pampered Chef Product!
One Last Snowfall!
We received one last snowfall (at least it looks that way since it is March 15 now and it is 82 degrees today) at the end of February. It was a very wet snow and it barely covered the tops of the grass. The boys were so excited, though, so we did the best with what we had. We first went out to have a snowball fight, but that excitement quickly ended after a few balls and frustrations from the boys because they can not make snowballs very well with their mittens. We moved on to attempting a snowman. Joel was a bit tired so we received more destructive help on the snowman than building help! But we did accomplish our task! We ended our time outside waiting for Daddy to come home by building an artilery of snowballs . . . . we didn't make the wait past 10 minutes so we ended up throwing them at each other and crying as we went inside because everyone was cold, wet, tired, and hungry. Snow is so much fun!!
Mountains of Fun!
I can tell that winter is winding down when I let my kids reorangize my entire living room and climb all over the furniture. The boys enjoy making forts out of our couch cushions and blankets, but this day it got a little more exciting with a mountain of cushions that the boys would climb on and then fall off of. They kept going and going and going. I sat close by in case the falls were too hard or were into the wall, but they both handled them very well. I love when they can play together, not yell at each other, not fight with each other, and not hurt each other. A rare blessing it was this day, but I know they love each other and are learning how to play together. They are becoming best friends!
