Celebrate!

Yesterday we finished up a month long adventure at the dental office. We received awful news at the end of August about the condition of both boys teeth.

We had taken the boys to our local family practice dentistry since they were each 2. Cade always seemed to have cavities but it wasn't till this last filling attempt in August that something different was done. We were referred to the pediatric dentist in Peru, IL.

While waiting for our appointment to come, Joel chipped one of his molars. So when it came time for Cade's appointment, I asked them to take a look at Joel's teeth. Well they had more answers than we were looking for. Even Cade's teeth were worse than what we thought with another cavity. So after an exam, we were given a plan, and we scheduled the dates to start the process of repair. Unfortunately the plan involved 3 crowns for Joel with some nerve therapy, and 1 crown and 3 fillings with nerve therapy for Cade. All totaling around $1800.

Though I have felt like the worse mom ever; one for the pain the boys have had to endure and second, for the large bill, I am trying to move on and have a plan to keep this from happening again. Brushing, FLOSSING, and no candy and fruit snacks! Praying we don't have another month like this again.

Grandma and Grandpa's Vacation

While Daddy took his week long men's retreat, Grandma and Grandpa came for their vacation to our home.
Here were a few of our activities!

My Fisherman!

My hubby is quite the fisherman. I know he wishes he could fish all the time, but many times I get in the way of his plans or ask him to take the boys with him, so he doesn't get as much alone time as he really desires with the fish. He is a great studier of the water and the fish and the tackle. It is quite impressive what he can pull out of the water. He is quite the catch!

The Last Day of Summer

We enjoyed a nice picnic lunch at Zearing Park the day before Cade headed back to school. The boys played so well and did a great job eating. It was a nice 2 hours of soaking in what summer should be about - relaxing. Our summer plans didn't all work out, but despite those things we didn't get done we did make a lot of changes. It may have not been all fun and games like the boys like, it was what it was to get everything done.
