Playoffs Week #3

We moved on to the quarter finals of the State Playoffs on November 3rd! We had a special morning breakfast for the boys and everyone enjoyed decorating their cars to head up to Chicagoland to play a private Catholic school. Curtis did an excellent job on the window paint! Many in the community donated money so the boys could have a charter bus for the long trip. The stadium where we played had very little seating so it was a bummer when we were kicked out of our seats. The fans of our opponent were very unkind and all throughout the game yelled very mean things at our players on the sideline. Unfortunately we did not have success on the field and lost the game. Cade was given the chance to continue to play on defense and he did incredibly well. He worked so hard all season and saw so many fruits of his labor in this game. We didn’t get the victory, but it was a great game and season for Cade.

Jumping in Leaves, Deer, Basketball, and Pumpkins!

We didn’t get our pumpkins carved in October, but we made it happen in November. We attempted to carve light sabers in the pumpkins this year. We have been enjoying the television series, Mandalorian, which is related to Star Wars.
Dad killed a deer on his day off this week (November 8), which meant we went to work to process the deer ourselves to save some money. Our family worked hard together in the evening getting the meat prepped for the freezer. It will be so nice to have meat this winter ready to go!
Joel had two basketball games this week. The B team continues to work hard trying to make cohesiveness on the court. Joel is trying so hard and wants to do well. We had time to rake and jump in the leaves this week too. When our front tree drops its leaves, they come! Callie and Joel made a fort and then also jumped and jumped!

November 6th - Playoff Week #2

We had a Saturday Playoff game as we moved into the post season of the Tiger’s season. It was a warm day which surprised us all and we shed lots of layers throughout the game. The Tigers came out with a great win and Cade got a good amount of minutes on the field. Callie and Joel are the best sibling fans! They have been so excited for their brother each game this season. On to week two!!

Another Week!

We got to celebrate Grandma’s birthday this week with a yummy cake and wonderful smiles. It is such a gift to be able to celebrate another year of Grandma’s life. And the photo of her and the kids is just precious.
Joel also had a basketball game in DePue this week. The B team is making strides in their game. Plus this week was also the Christmas store at school. Callie did well in her shopping this year. So many thoughtful gifts for those she loves!

Trick or Treating!

We had a fun night of Trick or Treating. We enjoyed some of our favorite stops at Melvina’s, Doug & Bonnie’s, Ms Luanne’s, Everett & Vickie’s, and more. We always enjoy taking this night to stop by the homes of special people in our life. One exciting part of the evening was stopping at the Butterfield’s and running into friends from school.
This year, Callie and Joel took on the Star Wars theme. Callie dressed as Chewbacca. We spray painted a non working Nerf gun to give her a fun prop. Joel was a Jedi. Mom worked hard cutting an old bed sheet to give him is tunic!
The kids came home with a hull of delicious candy!
