Fall Leaf Walk
The weather this fall was so beautiful and I have felt like I have not spent enough time enjoying it. Cade and I use to take a walk everyday, just to take a walk. Joel and I seem to be running here there and everywhere these days. I feel like there I always an errand to run and something to do. Every outing is planned. Joel is a laid back kid but he does enjoy going and doing too. I try to get us out of the house everyday to do something fun, but he likes to get to a destination and have the fun. Stroller riding is not fun to him. He wants the destination. I feel like when we go for a stroller ride I am always trying to keep him seated and relaxed. He won't just chill which is so opposite of his brother's stroller behavior. It is strange to me.
Well one day after visiting the park, I decided I would take the "long" way home so I could get a little walk in. And it was a success! We made a little stop a few blocks from home in a beautifully lead covered yard. Joel ran through the leaves, made a leaf angel, brought me many leaves, and smiled. The smiles were wonderful. It was wonderful to be with him in this beautiful weather on this wonderful walk!
Well one day after visiting the park, I decided I would take the "long" way home so I could get a little walk in. And it was a success! We made a little stop a few blocks from home in a beautifully lead covered yard. Joel ran through the leaves, made a leaf angel, brought me many leaves, and smiled. The smiles were wonderful. It was wonderful to be with him in this beautiful weather on this wonderful walk!
Children's Museum With Grandma Glenna
While Cade was off in Kansas we decided to make some fun for ourselves. Out of the blue we decided to adventure to Iowa City to meet up with Grandma Glenna for a few hours to play. Grandma had a free day so it worked out perfect!
Curtis had been searching for a new truck for months and out of the blue this adventure came up, so he checked on Craig's List and found what he was looking for. He gave the guy a call and the deal worked out. He drove himself home in a new to him truck! What a surprise!
We had a nice lunch out with Grandma at Chili's restaurant. Joel is so patient and was so good at the restaurant waiting as we adults chit chatted.
We then went to the Iowa Children's Museum. Joel loved every moment of it. The adults tag along a bit as the kids play, so I know it was boring for Curtis. I enjoyed seeing Joel play and explore. He loved having Grandma all to himself. The last stop at the museum was air tunnels. You would stick a scarf or a yarn ball into the air tunnel and it would follow different vent paths. Joel laughed and laughed and laughed at this. He could have stayed 2 more hours! He had such a great time and can not stop talking about his trip to the Children's Museum. He has asked Grandma when they could go again. He will randomly bring up the children's museum in conversations with friends with no connection to our day. What a great time he had! Thanks Grandma for making a WONDERFUL memory.

Cade's Adventure to Kansas
We had a long weekend over Columbus Day and Cade took a big adventure with Pop and Grandma Bev to Kansas. They left right after school on Friday and arrived in Kansas early in the morning Saturday. Cade's arrival was a big surprise to the Lambert kids, but boy were they excited. It was a special weekend for all of them. Cade was a gem according to Pop and did so well being away from home. Grandma stayed the next week in Kansas, but Pop and Cade traveled home on Tuesday in the car together. Those two are quite a team and have so much fun together. It is so fun to see Cade enjoy his family so much. 
Daddy's BIG Buck!
Curtis shot the biggest buck of his hunting career just a few weeks into the bow hunting season. It was so fun to go out into the field to see his hunting land and the path the deer took after it got shot. I didn't enjoy seeing the inside of the deer as Curtis field dressed it but I handled it. Joel enjoyed exploring the woods, climbing on logs, and seeing the great outdoors. It was fun being with Daddy in his element of fun. 
Kindergarten Field Trip
Cade went on his first kindergarten field trip, and Joel and I were blessed to go along. We visited a man's home in rural Princeton who has built a 1/8 size model railroad in his backyard. The children were given a ride on the train and Mr. Johnson shared information about the train during our time at his place, as well. The kids were so excited and it was very interesting. What a hobby! 
Brothers
My prayer is that my boys will grow up to not just be blood brothers, but true brothers in The Lord. I want them to love and follow The Lord with their heart, soul, mind and strength. May they be deciphers of His Truth as they walk each day. I pray they are best friends and call each other daily to chat about life and not just business. May their friendship be because Christ reigns in their hearts. 
Up Up Up, It's Apple Picking Time!
We were invited to visit our friend's home to pick apples. Oh what fun!
It was so much better than visiting a private orchard because there were no restrictions on the boys. Cade climbed and reached and pulled and picked. He loved getting the delicious apples oh so high. Oh course, Joel had to get in on the action too, so I helped him up and watched him close.
We didn't get just a few apples, we went all out and came home with bags full! Then it was applesauce making time! Yes, applesauce time! It monopolized my time and energy for at least 5 days. The result, 12 quarts and 12 pints of sauce, delicious sauce. It is fun to open the jars and taste the goodness and I am sure in January it will taste even better when there is no green to be found.
