We got to take a little family trip over to the Fox River Resort for two nights starting in December 31st! What a perfect way to celebrate the end of 2017 and ring in 2018! It is a long story, but we had a gift certificate we purchased and needed to use at a timeshare, or we would loose it. We found the Fox River Resort on the list and it was the perfect distance from our home to give us a bit of time away. We had a nice two bedroom condo to bunk up in! The weather was been below freezing so we mostly stayed inside, watched TV and played games. The Resort has a waterpark on the premises, so we took one day to pay and go as a family. We invited families from our church to attend the Waterpark and then join us at our little condo for some food after we were all tired! We had a house full of kids and adults! Five families joined us!! Our adventures away, was a great way to end 2017 and start 2018! I love the gift of my family and the people God has placed in our life to live the everyday moments together!

Happy 36th Birthday Jessica!
We were able to celebrate my 36th birthday on Saturday, December 30th. Pop and Grandma, along with Uncle Everett and Aunt Terrie, came over to enjoy some delicious Mexican stack and Twinkie Cake! It was so very sweet of Bev to make the meat for dinner and the cake! Curtis gave me a new shirt and a Brita Water Filtration System. I was so excited! I have had it on my list for years and he blessed me with it! Another step toward living with less chemicals!! Thanks for a great birthday family! I love you more than you will ever know.
Snow Much Fun!
Though the temperatures have hovered at 0F degrees, we have still ventured out for small moments in time. The snow just looked so fun! Though the snow was really fluffy and dry, the boys cut out ice blocks from the PHS parking lot snow piles to use for snowmen! Cade has been a big helper on the driveway, helping to clear the icy/snowy patches from our vehicles driving on it. Though the snow and cold gets old, it is fun, and I am thankful for snowy winters!
Inside Fun!
We had an abundance of boxes after Christmas so we had a day of box fun! The kids made a fort of boxes and we had a big Nerf fight. Callie made a fort that she got in. And the boys started to create a little city for their Playmobil figures. The cold cold weather has kept us inside, but the boys have stayed busy with their Christmas toys. It has been nice to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of a go go go schedule to just be. We will be back at the craziness soon, but for a week we are going to enjoy lazy mornings, playing, and watching a lot of movies (gasp!). Thank you Lord for a break!
Happy 14th Anniversary!
Curtis and I celebrated our 14th anniversary by a dinner out at Prime Quarter Steakhouse. We received a gift certificate earlier in the year and saved it for this special occasion! Life has changed a lot in the last two years for us. It has been scary for both of us to step into this new role. It has been scary to do something new. It has been hard to adjust to new expectations. We have been blessed by our church and people’s words of encouragement. We have been blessed by God. But days go by when we are still scared to be in this role. It has caused us to cling more to our Savior and each other as we continue to work on communicating. The Lord has been faithful and we pray He will continue to strengthen our marriage and desire for our family to serve Him through ministry.
The kids stayed with Pop and Grandma. They got to wear house coats, sip hot chocolate, and watch a movie from Netflix! Sounds perfect, doesn’t it?!
