Cade and Curtis both came down wearing stripes as they were getting ready for school. Joel wanted his striped shirt too. Unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere. It created much drama and he ended in tears which made the getting out the door delayed. Seconds before they walked out I found it and Joel requested a picture. He wiped his tears and smiles. They were tardy at school this day, but I think it was worth it!

Callie Mae
January 26, 2015
Callie continues to grow grow grow in her understanding and abilities. She is a good little eater too! And we are working on drinking from a sippy cup. She prefers a regular cup or Cade's camelbak water bottle.
Winter Swim
The days are getting long as we continue to be cooped up inside and it is almost the end of January. I am so glad the Lord gives us season changes. It is nice to be refreshed with a change in weather. I am getting tired of winter and am ready to be out for walks and bike rides and rollerblades!
To break up the winter blues I took the kids swimming at the Metro Center. We are blessed to have an indoor swimming pool in our town. We are a small town and to have such a nice facility is amazing. I grew up with many of the amenities the Metro Center provides but didn't realize what a blessing they were. Now that I live in a small community having these extra perks is just awesome.
The kids loved the swim. It makes them so tired but it really gives them a great work out. I didn't take callie with us but Daddy stayed home with her so she could get a good nap. I was a cheapskate and didn't want to pay to swim so I sat on the edge and watched or threw diving toys in for the boys. I helped Joel work on his back float from the edge too.
In February the boys will be taking swim lessons at the Metro Center two nights a week. They will do great. With how much they love to swim I think these lessons are so important to continue to give them confidence in the water.
Almost Finished the Floor!
Curtis worked on a strip between the dining and kitchen today to fill in the gap of the floors. It looks really nice. Hopefully we can get the rolled quarter round back on the cabinets sometime in this next year, and maybe even a new back splash and cabinet handles too!! Wishful thinking!!
Cheeeese!
January 23, 2015
Callie loves to say cheeeeese when I take her picture now. It is just the cutest sound!
Book Time
Daddy came home for lunch and callie hopped right up on his lap to read a book. She has recently enjoyed reading. Usually it is the same book five times in one sitting but she loves it. We are learning to master the sounds and names of the animals. I have also left books in her bed to read when she wakes up from sleeping. She just talks away and looks through them patiently while waiting for me to come to get her. I love listening to her chatter in the monitor.
Toys
Callie has started to play with toys a bit more. She enjoys dragging and pulling them around the house. She loves toys with strings and handles. And one of her favorite activities is to put hints away. We are so blessed to have so many nice toys that have been given to us or even purchased at bargain garage sale prices. Our pray our kids will be grateful for all they have been given.
Game time with Grandma!
January 18,2015
We enjoy many moments with Tom and Bev. They are amazing parents and grandparents. Bev got a new game to have at her house called Blokus. It is for kids ages 7+ but Joel just loves it an really gets the concept. It is a game of strategy and us adults spend so much time figuring out out next move and Joel just usually does it. He usually lasts in the games just as long as we do. He really does well at games. It is fun to watch him play an grow.

Disney Fever!
We received a special package in the mail from my upline Director in Pampered Chef for achieving the Disneyland Trip. It was a Mickey Mouse Waffle Iron! We used it the next morning and the boy were so excited! What a fun gift. What a privilege to earn this trip. We can't wait until June!
Snow Day
Yep, another snow day and cold day on January 9th. And what did we do? You got it, we played Monopoly! It seems to w the running tradition of the way we spend our snow and cold days.
Big Bro
This boy loves his sister so much. He doesn't always know how to interact with her because his love just overflows on her. She smiles and smiles and smiles at him. They are quite the team of happiness.
