Grandparents Day

Cade's Grandparents Day was spent at home SICK. It was awful. We sent Grandma and Grandpa, but not Cade. He couldn't even stand up or function. Unfortunately we are now on the other side of the weekend and he is not better. This stuff is awful. My boy is not my boy.

Valentina's Day

Here is a look of our Valentine's Day in 2013!
Pink pancakes to start the day! Valentina's Day reading and party at school. And . . .
We had special visitors, Grandpa Bill as Grandma Glenna, who rolled in for Grandparents Day a few hours early. I think this was the first "holiday" my parents have spent at our home. Not sure if you can really count Valentine's Day as a holiday, but I've tried I make it a special evening. Joel helped me set the table. We had a fun time together.

Valentina's Day Gift

For Valentine's Day Cade and I wanted to make a unique gift for his classmates. We mixed up some playdoh the Sunday before Valentine's Day, but it was so sticky so I needed to go to plan B. I discovered Slime on a craft blog. It only took Elmer's Glue, Borax, and Water. It looked easy so I gave it a try. And it was a success! We made a number of batches to be sure everyone in Cade's class received a nice portion of Slime. Joel helped me mix up our last batch of green Slime and i loved the help. Both boys loved the Slime and it was a fun hit with Cade's friends.
And I did redeem the playdoh, so that was another surprise of live we shared on Valentine's Day at PCA!

Quick Time with Grandmas

We made a quick quick trip to see Grandma Bents last week. She moved into the nursing home and things have not been going well for her. We also got to see Grandma Sparks because she is staying at my parents home for a few months to gain weight and get more healthy. She too has been failing.
My parents have been caring non-stop for both of their mothers and it has been a tough road. I cherish the memories I have with both of my Grandmas. They loved me and spent many many special moments with me when I was a child. It is so hard to see them both suffering and failing now that they are in their 90s. I pray for them daily that they would know Jesus as their Savior and would trust in Him alone for their salvation.

First Showing

My stomach is nervous and things are put away! Yes we are on the we eve of our first showing of our home. We put the sign up in our yard 4 days ago and I started posting pictures on Facebook. I got a hit on Facebook right away on Saturday and got a time all set up for the couple to come look. God's hand is in this. I do trust Him. It has been hard during these three weeks because I want everything perfect and in place. I have done my best and need to rest in His arms. It could take months before this chaos of showing is over. I am going to need to learn how to function during this process. I feel like I have dropped my Pampered Chef business and mothering is hard when I am almost painting or putting away. Lord give me grace. I need it!

February

It is February. What happened to January? I know we lived each day to its fullest, but where did it go?

Preparing the House

We have decided to sell our house. I can't believe it. We have lived in our home since the summer of 2004. It is just a little 2 bedroom, 1100 square foot home. It has been so good to us, and I have loved it. It is an old home with much character. It is very functional and the set up of the home is nice with big rooms. Yes, it has had it's drawbacks, but every home does. The lack of a third bedroom, another bathroom, and a larger living space is what it has lacked for our needs
We have found, though, that these drawbacks have gotten to the point of hindered us from doing ministry to its fullest. God placed a home into our laps that really takes care of all of our current home's lacking. The square footage of the home doubles our current residence. The only drawback we have is there is no central air. We will adjust with ceiling fans and window units. We are excited for this possibility and how God will be able to use our home to further his Kingdom.
For now, we will be putting a for sale sign in our yard and hope the phone rings with many people interested. I have been working lie crazy painting any wall or wood in sight to make it look fresh and pleasing. I have taken down pictures and an attempting to find new hidden homes for many items. We are praying all of these little fix-ups will bring a buyer quickly.
We will continue to trust in God for all we need for the down payment. It would be so nice to make back the money we put into the home so we wouldn't be stretched so far. God will provide. I know He will. I can't wait to see it all!
